Under the cover of a mighty willow, our Paladin, weary from the day's travels, released her wild auburn mane from the weight of her battleworn helm, and set it down on the tree's tangled roots. Her reflection stared back at her from its pitted curves, distorted but familiar.
The Seven Orbitsβ War had recently come to end. The scars were still fresh on the terrain and in the minds of those who had fought and bled for their lands. She had led a loyal faction of fearless warriors to many victories, and in recognition of her valor, the Realmβs High Empress had offered the Paladin a seat in her court of advisors tasked with maintaining the newly acquired peace. To the dismay of her proud matriarch, however, she respectfully declined, choosing instead to embark on a journey she had long dreamed of pursuing from the time she was old enough to attend the Retelling ceremonies.
Guided by the ancient lore describing the time when Fae folk walked among men, and driven by a longing to rediscover their long lost magic, our Paladin roamed the lands of the Realm for the better part of the last three moon cycles seeking answers to questions she had yet to ask.
Having sat for a spell, it was time to prepare that evening's fire. With daylight quickly escaping behind the craggy silhouette of distant mountains, she waded through the forestβs underbrush gathering whatever dry kindling the forest would permit her to collect. Just before turning back to the comfort of her camp, an unusual patch of moss caught her eye. Glowing in the twilight, the moss was unlike any she had ever encountered. Its vivid hue immediately reminded her of a passage from the Retelling she had heard so many times: βAnd the moss shone like emeralds speckled with toadstools of Fly Agaric...β
She stashed the kindling in her satchel and dropped to her knees to sink her fingers into the surrounding layers of leafmeal. She could feel it beckoning her, and now it was just a matter of finding itβ¦

Hangs from a 30 inch stainless steel ball chain (~14 inch drop). Length of ball chain can be shortened at no additional cost, just drop a note at checkout.
